Soho House Toronto’s Pride Kick-off Party Toronto June, 2019

To kick-off a very colourful month of Pride celebrations, we set sail in the six with queens in tow, for an extravagant day party on a boat.

We take members offsite with this Pride kickoff event hosted by Toronto staple Bobby Bowen, with tunes by DJs John Cafferey and Nino Brown, and a surprise drag show by beloved local queens Miss Moco, Sofonda Cox and Tynomi Banks!

The unique venue, the Integral House’s original owner, math textbook magnate James Stewart, had the 17,000-square-foot Rosedale home built to his exact specifications reflecting his two great loves: calculus and music - strange curves, floor-to-ceiling windows, panoramic ravine views, graceful white-oak slats... it’s a home created for acoustics... and the creative in mind!

There was a photobooth that printed takeaway strips for each guest to capture and share their experience, plus the talented Othello Grey snapping away on film throughout the night. To match the artistic integrity of the venue, I decided to enlist a Toronto staple and not your standard event photographer, who captures gorgeous editorials around the city. Othello's work from that event resulted in a stunning editorial recap as worthy as the live experience; art in itself!
